10/13/2009 4:08 PMMr. Kardoon is so very out of touch with reality in this country if he is using Rush Limbaugh as a knight in shining armor to save this team, the team being the St. Loius Rams. Is that SAVE the team or SHAME this team? Get out of Dodge Mr. Kerdoon!

From another Spike Jones fan...
I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I am one of the few KNX listeners who is not only a Spike Jones fan, but also a big Monty Python fan as well. Indeed, I think I have just about all of the material that Spike Jones and his City Slickers ever produced. Switching gears for a minute: whaddaya think about using a little sound bite from Monty Python's "Every sperm is sacred'? Hah! Never get away with it on radio, or probably the podacast either! Anyway, I just wanted to drop a line and let you know that I like your style. Regards, Jim Walser

Musical Horseracing
Elaine from Agoura Hills.Regarding the horseracing to music pod file. My grandfather owned a pub in south London, England in the early 1920's the pub's name was "The Greyhound". He also owned a greyhound dog that he used to race at the local dog track. They would play different music just before the start of each race. Sammy the greyhound would always win when they played 'The William Tell Overture'. So it can work..at least for dogs.

Poker Legend Phil Hellmuth Jr. readies for WSOP next week
Twenty of the world’s top poker players share their colorful and inspiring stories of how they became professionals
LAS VEGAS – Commemorating the 20th anniversary of his first World Series of Poker (WSOP) championship, leading poker professional Phil Hellmuth Jr. plus 19 of the world’s other top poker players tell stories of how they broke into the game in a dynamic, new book: Deal Me In by Stephen John and Marvin Karlins.
Poker’s biggest players, such as Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey and the Poker Brat himself, give first-person account of their personal journeys and the key moments in their rise to the top of the poker pantheon. These stories will teach, inspire and make you laugh.
“Each player gives you a behind-the-scenes look into their early years as scrappy, amateur players and how they broke into the big-time professional ranks. The pros cover their humble beginnings, the obstacles they overcame, the demons they faced and ultimately the success they enjoyed,” said Phil Hellmuth Jr., who conceptualized the book project and is in the hunt for his 12th WSOP bracelet at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas.
Deal Me In humanizes the larger-than-life personalities, allowing the reader to understand more about poker strategy through the trials and errors of the best players in the game. Each poker legend tells his or her own story in the book including: Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Ivey, Annie Duke, Johnny Chan, Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Carlos Mortensen, Chau Giang, Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, Erik Seidel, Chad Brown, David “Devilfish” Ulliott, Layne Flack, Scotty Nguyen, Annette Obrestad, Tom Dwan, 2008 Main Event winner Peter Eastgate and the Poker Brat himself, Phil Hellmuth Jr.
CardPlayer magazine says that Deal Me In is “A page-turner about the world's most powerful poker players and their hardscrabble journeys from the backgammon games of Manhattan, the taverns of Wisconsin, the back alleys of Saigon and the pubs of England. Unforgettable stories and valuable tips, Deal Me In is about dreaming big and the will to succeed.”
In 1989, 24 year-old Hellmuth was a University of Wisconsin dropout and the youngest person ever to win the main event when he defeated WSOP champion Johnny Chan. This week marks the 20th anniversary of the historic match. Hellmuth, now 44, still holds the record for playing at the most final tables (41) in WSOP history and winning 11 championship bracelets.
Deal Me In, compiled by Stephen John and Marvin Karlins, 308 pages, 154 color photos, softbound, published by Phil’s House Publishing. Inc., $24.95, available exclusively online at: www.PokerBrat.com. For more information and media interviews, contact Shannon Reiter, Phil’s House Publishing, www.PhilsHousePublishing.com

Hey Andrew....
Thanks for the feedback. Talk about timing!! the sportscast you heard was the ONLY time I didn't mention Deriba Merga's name...nor the name of the 2nd place finisher ...Kenya's Daniel Rono....the rest of this morning's sports I did mention them....I assure you I have no agenda here other than highlighting a local athlete over someone most people have never heard of.you are obviously a big marathon fan!

Bush League Announcer
R. Kerdoon just announced the "Winner" of the Boston Marathon, saying only that he was "Ethiopian". He did, by name, mention the American who finished 58 seconds behind "the Ethiopian". What kind of B.S. sports reporting is this? Are American competitors the only people worth mentioning by name? This is piss poor journalism in my estimation. Mr. Kerdoon has now added a selective jingoism to his smirky, nudge-nudge reporting. Exceptionally bad form.
