AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS (AP) -- A dozen passengers are now reportedly being detained after their flight got a fighter jet escort back to the Amsterdam airport.
Dutch TV says 12 people are being held by police. An American woman aboard the Northwest Airlines jet says she saw officers handcuff and remove several men.
The flight had left the Netherlands heading for India, when authorities say the crew felt some passengers were acting suspiciously. It turned around after crossing the German border and picked up a pair of Dutch warplanes that flew back to Amsterdam with it.
Officials say 149 passengers were aboard the plane.
