CHICAGO, IL (KNX) -- Actress Mo'Nique Imes-Hick was thrown off a plane after allegedly arguing with a flight attendant who was allegedly racist towards her.
Mo'Nique, 38, was flying in first class, while her stylist was in economy class. Her stylist stashed a hair dryer in a first class baggage locker.
A The flight attendant allegedly told Mo'Nique, "tell your people that the next time they have an attitude, they are being off....Since 9/11, we don't play around."
The quarrel resulted in "Phat Girlz" actress being thrown off the plan and escorted back to Chicago's O'Hare Airport where, according to the actres, a supervisor called the police.
Mo'Nique tells the New York Daily News, "I felt like I was being treated like an animal. This happens to black people all the time, and they don't have a voice. It was humiliating."
A spokesman from United Airlines says, " we regret Ms. Imes felt in any way that she was not treated with courtesy and respect. There was a confrontation involving a customer that caused the flight to be delayed. When a situation occurs on a flight that causes a delay, or disruption, we must act in the best interest of all our customers."
