LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- In celebration of Thanksgiving, Anaheim Ducks hockey players will help feed 20,000 thousand people at the Honda Center. At the Midnight Mission downtown, Dick Van Dyke and Anthony Hopkins will help get meals to 2,000 people.
Thanksgiving dinner will also be served at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium this morning at 11 along with free vision care and flu shots.
Just like he does every Thanksgiving, a local reverend will be in downtown LA handing out cash. Father Dollar Bill, as he is known, will have 15,000 thousand dollars to give away to those in need at 9 this morning outside the Salvation Army on Fifth and Stanford.
Some criticize Father Dollar Bill for giving money to people who might just spend it on drugs or booze, but he says that's not the point. He says the point is to show people in need that they're not forgotten.
