Redondo Beach police and fire department investigators raided a home today and discovered a large quantity of illegal fireworks, reported authorities.
Fire department arson inspectors and police officers responded to a call at around 11 p.m. and saw a large amount of fireworks being set off on Pinkard Avenue, said Redondo Beach fire Division Chief Steve Hyink.
Officials say, investigators were denied entry by the owner of the home where the fireworks seemed to have come from.
Investigators went to the home of a judge "woke him up," got a search warrant and entered the property at 2858 Pinkard Ave. about four hours after their initial attempt, said Hyink.
Hyink stated, investigators found "a large amount" of commercial-type fireworks.
Redondo Beach fire Capt. Robert Franck said, Benjamin Colarossi, 48, was arrested and booked on suspicion of possession of dangerous fireworks.
