Classes Resume at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles

EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (CNS)  --  Classes resumed at fire-damaged Garfield High School in East Los Angeles today, with school administrators moving from classroom to classroom to thank them for returning and crisis counselors offering support for upset students.
The school's ornate auditorium and 10 classrooms were damaged in an apparent arson fire that was reported at 7:38 a.m. Sunday. It took about 100 firefighters nearly two hours to douse the flames at the campus, 5101 E. Sixth St., according to county fire Inspector Sam Padilla. All classes at the school were canceled yesterday.
