PASADENA, CA (KNX) -- Mary Ritts, 95, who co-created and performed with her husband Ritts Puppets has died.
Her son says she died of natural causes in a retirement home in Pasadena, CA.
Paul Ritts, Mary's husband, started the couple's puppetry career when he offered to make a puppet for a C-B-S-affiliate where he directed a sportscast, in the 1950s.
Ritts Puppets included, Chipmunk, Geoffrey the Giraffe, Calvin the Crow and Magnolia the Ostrich.
In 1961, the puppets appeared in the Jerry Lewis comedy "The Errand Boy,'' and hosted "The Pink Panther Show.''
The series was on Saturday mornings on N-B-C for several years in the 1970s.
Other appearances included, "The Ed Sullivan Show'' and "The Tonight Show.''
