CULVER CITY, Calif. (AP) -- Authorities say a woman has been killed in a Southern California house fire.
Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Mike Brown says firefighters found the body of the unidentified woman estimated to be about 50 years old in an upstairs bedroom of a two-story triplex in Ladera Heights near Culver City on Monday. She was declared dead at the scene.
Brown says the blaze was discovered by firefighters who smelled smoke after dealing with an unrelated call. They knocked down the fire in about 40 minutes before finding the woman.
Brown says there were no other injuries.
The fire's cause is under investigation.
