LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (CBS) ― Firefighters made quick work of a five-acre blaze Monday afternoon in Lake Elsinore.
The fire was estimated at about two acres as of 3:30 p.m., but had the potential to grow to 200 acres, according to officials.
Within minutes, as predicted, officials said the fire was five acres and growing.
The fire was reportedly a quarter acre from the 74 and just west of the landmark Country Cottage Candy Store.
Ortega Highway (74) was closed between Grand on the west side and Antonio on the East side.
The fire added to an already busy week for local crews already battling the "Sayre" and "Triangle Complex" fires.
