They're back! The award-winning anchor team of Linda Nunez and Tom Haule are back on the air together! You can hear them Monday through Friday between 9am and 1p.m. Linda and Tom are KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO's most-decorated pair, spending nearly ten years co-anchoring morning drive. Beginning in 1994, for eight out of nine years, the Associated Press named Linda and Tom as the Best Anchor Team in the California/Neveda region, honors no other anchor team has been able to match.
Linda joined the KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO staff in May 1990 as a weekend anchor and reporter and later became the first woman in KNX's illustrious history to anchor the all-important morning drive time slot.
Linda's radio career began in Northern California, with college internships at KBLX-FM in Berkeley and KQED-FM in San Francisco. After leaving the Bay Area, Linda landed a job as morning drive anchor/reporter and assignment editor for KTMS-AM and KHTY-FM in Santa Barbara. After two-and-one-half years in the coastal city, Linda decided to come home. A Southern California native, Linda graduated from Long Beach Poly High School and spent a year at Cal State Long Beach before transferring to the University of California, Berkeley. There she was a double major in Mass Communications and Sociology.
Linda has received several industry awards, including a Golden Mike for Best Spot News for her coverage of the Landers / Big Bear Earthquakes in 1992. While in Santa Barbara, Linda garnered an armful of anchoring and writing awards from the Tri-County Broadcasters Association.
In 2006, as a morning drive fill-in, Linda won the Best Anchor Team Award with Dave Williams.
