Randy Kerdoon brings you twice an hour sports updates and occasional reports on automobiles on KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO, as well as five fresh "Kerdoon Files" podcasts a week at KNX1070.com.

Randy knew he was destined for a sports career OFF the court while at El Camino Real High be became the 13th man on a JV basketball team with 12 uniforms; called football games into a tape recorder at LA Pierce College; worked at KCSN at Cal State Northridge before ending up at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned, appropriately enough, a BS degree in Journalism.

His "road to KNX" included radio stops at the old 1260-KGIL in San Fernando, where during a team softball practice traffic maven Miss Pamela once threw a ball, hitting him in a spot "Sweet" Dick Whittington later commented, "you ruined him." (I guess that explains the voice.)

Then it was on to Pismo Beach's KPGA (alas, not all golf, all the time), followed by San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Bishop and Reno, Nevada before landing in Salt Lake City. Where he was the radio voice of the Salt Lake Golden Eagle Hockey team and the baseball Salt Lake Trappers (part-owned by current Angel owner Arte Moreno), who won a baseball record 29 in a row in 1987 (he's in the team picture at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown); TV voice of Weber State football; host of a coaches show with then Wildcat coach Mike Price and worked on pre-game broadcasts for the NBA's Utah Jazz..

Randy returned to LA in 1988, for a brief stint at KWNK radio, located on top of "Hot Dog on a Stick" in the old Fallbrook Mall. He joined KFWB in 1989 and was the morning sports anchor until 1995. Then Randy went Hollywood on us, working at Fox 11 from 1995 to 2002, developing his popular "K-Files" and "Sports Around the World" features.     After a brief stay at the Fox Sports Radio Network, Randy became KNX's full time morning sportscaster in 2004

Over his career, Randy has been honored with 10 Golden Mike's including a Best Sports Reporting award in 2006 and Best Radio Sportscast in 2004....and 5 AP Mark Twain awards including Best Sportscast in 2006 and 2004, and 3 L.A. Press Club awards for excellence.   While at Fox-11, Randy won a best sports reporting Emmy and was nominated for a second.

Randy also loves the world of classic cars, and at least once a year treks to Scottsdale, Arizona to cover the various collector car auctions that go on, and file reports for KNX.
