LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- Buena Park is putting the damper on the fireworks party that breaks out every year on its main street. As many as 3,000 people gather every Fourth of July on La Palma Avenue to watch fireworks lighting up the sky above Knott's Berry Farm.
The trouble is that too many of the spectators light up their own fireworks. The impromptu show blocks traffic. The City Council has now outlawed July Fourth pyrotechnic displays on La Palma Avenue.
Fireworks are still legal on Buena Park's other streets.
