LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- Elahi is bombarding the U.S. government with information, and evidence of his whereabouts 24-7-365. The feds can even see every toilet the Elahi has used for the last few years. Elahi is getting back at the government for mistakenly putting him on the terror watch list.
Three years ago Hasan Elahi, a Bangladeshi born U.S. Citizen, was detained at Detroit after he got off a plane from the Netherlands. The FBI accused him of hoarding explosives in a storage unit in Florida. Elahi, an artist and professor, insisted he was innocent and eventually won over the FBI after repeated lie detector tests.
Elahi knew that it would be hard getting off the terror watch list, but he wanted to ensure that he wouldn't get cornered by the government again. So he began phoning the FBI before he got on a flight. The phone calls worked, and he decided to take it a step further.
On trackingtransience.net federal officials, and anyone else interested, can see where in the wold Elahi is at any moment. A GPS tracking device sends his coordinates to his website that displays where he is at any given moment on a map. The Professor also post pictures, and receipts to prove where he's been and what he's been doing.
The site has registered hits from the Pentagon, and the Executive Office of the President. The point is to overwhelm Big Brother with something he might not be use to--accurate information. |
