HUNTINGTON BEACH (AP) -- Five registered sex offenders have agreed to move out of a Huntington Beach hotel, following protests by nearby residents.

A spokesman for Extended Stay America hotels says three of the parolees had already relocated by Friday evening, when the protest reached its peak, and the other two were expected to be gone by Saturday.

People living in the area said they became aware of the sex offenders' presence a week ago, when Huntington Beach police distributed fliers listing the parolees' names and photos at the hotel's lobby.

The resulting publicity included a live broadcast Friday afternoon by KFI radio's John and Ken, from outside the hotel.
