LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO)  -- A top Los Angeles official says the city isn't doing enough to promote its own attractions, and she wants to change that.

City Controller Laura Chick says L.A. has a bad habit of taking tourism for granted -- and needs to get more aggressive in courting visitors.

She tells the Daily News that should include things like having multi-lingual greeters at the airport, offering tours of L.A's neighborhoods, and making sure people know about all the various festivals that take place across the city every weekend.
