LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO)  -- It appears that veteran high school teacher Gregory Abbott was the victim of an elaborate setup. Abbot was arrested at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton on Drugs and Weapons charges. Investigators are now focusing their attention on Abbot's estranged wife, and another man. They may have tired to get Abbot arrested, fired and discredited.

Police received an anonymous call from a person who alleged to have bought drugs from someone he thought to be a teacher at Sunny Hills, and that a weapon appeared to be in the dealers car. Police following up on the tip targeted Abbot.

Confronted by police in his classroom, Abbot consented to have his car search. Authorities found an empty shotgun along with marijuana and prescription drugs packaged for sale in his vehicle. Abbot was then booked for suspicion of possession of a weapon on a school campus and possession of narcotics for sale. Fullerton PD has dropped all charges against him.
