Ken Jeffries came to KFWB in April 1986...from Comedy Radio (KMDY 850 AM) in Thousand Oaks....where he was the news director for an otherwise all-comedy station. (Who says the news isn't funny?). Before that, he worked at various other mom-and-pop stations around the country as a top-40 disc jockey...doing among other things, the polka show on WAZL-AM in Hazleton, Pa, and the fish report on KGOE in Thousand Oaks, all of which prepared him for his current job. Ken began reporting for KNX in February 2009.
Ken was the first person on the air at KFWB to announce the Northridge earthquake in January 1994. He also reported during the daylong initial OJ Simpson coverage, from the moment he was declared a fugitive to the slow-speed chase at the end of the day. In 1992, Ken covered the LA riots.
Ken has been honored with nine (or is it 10?) Golden Mikes.
Ken is married to Stephanie and they have two children, Michael and Sarah.
