JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - The four people who died in an Interstate 40 crash in Henderson County were driving cross-country from California.
Judith Stele, Brandt Stele, Rheta Kanter and Gloria Friedman, all of Laguna Woods, Calif., died on Wednesday when their Toyota Avalon crossed the I-40 median in Henderson County and hit a tractor-trailer.
Donna Kaal, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was not injured in the crash.
A Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman says Friedman was traveling to either North Carolina or South Carolina to visit her daughter and newborn grandchild.
