LOS ANGELES (CBS 2) -- It's been a wild and wooly couple of days for Xana Diolinda Marks, 23, of Chino.
On Monday afternoon she led police on a wild chase in a stolen Nissan Pathfinder. Then she smashed the car into at least two others head on before the Pathfinder flipped over on its roof. Police pulled Marks of out of thar car and arrested her for a suspected DUI and took her to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana.
Marks, under CHP guard, then pulled out her intravenous drip and simply walked out of the hospital -- in her hospital gown -- Tuesday morning.
This afternoon, Marks -- who was originally being pursued as a burglary suspect -- was again behind bars, according to Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's department.
Marks, 23, was taken into custody at a single-family home in the 6900 block of North Muscatel Street in an unincorporated area of northern San Gabriel in Los Angeles County.
Also arrested was a parolee wanted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and a .45-caliber handgun was seized, Amormino said.
He attributed the capture to "good old-fashioned police work" such as
checking hotels and motels and "hideouts."
At the scene of the crash, some stolen mail was found in the stolen Pathfinder, as well as alcohol (several bottles of vodka according to KCAL 9's Michele Gile), drugs and other property believed have been taken in burglaries, authorities said.
Marks walked out of Western Medical Center in Santa Ana about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, said California Highway Patrol Officer Rolf Trondsen.
The Pathfinder came to rest on its roof, and Marks was caught trying to run away, CHP Officer Michael Madden said.
Tustin police are investigating the collision, and the CHP is handling
the criminal investigation, Madden said.
