LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- De-clawing your cat may soon be against the law in Beverly Hills. The City Council is scheduled to discuss the ban tonight. It was proposed by a councilman who says the practice is cruel and unnecessary. But the President of the California Veterinary Medical Association is against the ban, saying most owners only de-claw as a last resort when their cat won't stop destroying their stuff.
West Hollywood is the only city in California to have banned the practice, but LA, Santa Monica and San Francisco are all looking into it.
