LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO) -- Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on at least one Chatsworth High School girl in a park.
Police say the 16-year-old boy and 15-year-old boy were arrested around 6 p.m. Friday, after several Chatsworth High School students who were in Mason Park the day of the assault were questioned,.
The older teen was booked on suspicion of sexual battery, while the other was booked on suspicion of sexual assault on a victim incapable of defending herself.
Police have released one other teenager who was detained shortly after Thursday morning's attacks.
The teenagers were away from the campus on Thursday because of staggered start times due to state testing and might have been drinking alcohol before at least one girl was sexually assaulted, said Capt. Steven Ruiz.
``According to eyewitnesses, the group was there together and appeared to all know each other,'' Ruiz said. ``They were all associated whether it be through the school or however, but they all appeared to have known each other --including the three girls who were found to later be unconscious.''
Detectives were sent to the park at Mason Avenue and Devonshire Street about 10:40 a.m. Thursday on a report that ``three females were possibly drugged and attacked,'' said Officer Kate Lopez of LAPD Media Relations Section.
Two girls were found unconscious in the picnic area, and the third was found in a men's restroom at the park, Ruiz said.
It was still unknown whether drugs and alcohol caused the girls to pass out.
``There was a bag of candy found,'' Ruiz said. ``It's unknown at this time whether or not it was laced. There's also several empty bottles of different types of soda containers -- Subway cup, bottles of empty soda -- so we don't know what involvement that may have at this point so we're still actively investigating it.''
